The Berlin Music Video Awards is an international festival dedicated to filmmakers and the art of music videos — a key meeting point for the video and music industries in Europe. No public or governmental funding; just freedom of expression, open-mindedness, diversity and acceptance.

Narrative

A music video with an emphasis on the originality of storyline; rewarding the scriptwriter of the video.

Animation

An animated music video in any of the following formats: AI, stop-motion, 2-D, 3-D, mixed-media or computer animated; rewarding the animator.

Song

A music video with an outstanding song/track; rewarding the artist/band. The winner of this category is a staff pick.

Staff pick

04

Low Budget

A music video produced with a budget lower than 8000 Euros (actual, or estimated by our team to be made for less than 8000).

Cinematography

A music video with a focus on cinematography, creativity and attention to camera angles, composition, light and the movement of the camera.

06

Art Direction

A music video with attention to makeup, styling, costumes, the scenes and the appearance of objects in the composition.

Early Bird deadline

Submit early for the lowest entry fee. Eligible videos may be unpublished or published from 1 January 2026 onward.

7 Feb 2027

Regular deadline

Standard submission window for the 14th edition.

7 Mar 2027

Late deadline

Final cut-off to submit. Videos must be published before 7 March 2027, or be previously unpublished. Maximum length: under 8 minutes.

7 Apr 2027

Final nominations announced

The official 2027 nominees across all categories are revealed.

10–12 Jun 2027

Festival & Awards Ceremony

Three days of screenings, live performances, workshops, fashion, the glittering carpet and networking at Gretchen Club, Berlin — culminating in the awards ceremony.
